Car insurance policyholders looking for a small family hatchback may want to go for a Honda Civic as this model is the best in terms of depreciation, according to a new report.
The vehicle only loses 15.8 per cent of its value in the first three years, compared to the Peugeot 307's 54.1 per cent decline, according to Used Car Expert magazine.
The Audi A3 and Hyundai i30 are also good buys when it comes to depreciation, losing just 26.1 per cent and 29.6 per cent respectively, so car insurance policyholders may consider these as well.
Used Car Expert looked at 1.6 litre or equivalent petrol small family hatchbacks, finding that the Civic's value goes from £14,200 to £11,955 in three years, while the A3 declines in price from £16,770 to £12,400 over the same period.
Car insurance policyholders recently voted the BMW 3 Series the most desirable model of the last three decades in a poll by Motors.co.uk.
