What has Mercedes got up its sleeve?

Today (February 21st) will finally allow motor insurance policyholders to glimpse Mercedes' new Formula One car.

Entitled the Mercedes MGP W03, the curtain is being lifted off the vehicle weeks later than other competitors in the motorsport.

While pundits and fans alike are awaiting a car which is unlike anything seen before, Mercedes' vice president of motorsport, Norbert Haug, has played down such rumours.

He explained to Autosport: "I don't think that your eye will be caught by any big surprises when you see the car during the unveiling.

"But I certainly hope that we have some clever solutions and we have some good ideas incorporated on the car."

One person who is eager to see what Mercedes has hiding up their sleeve is Red Bull design guru Adrian Newey.

Commenting on what he is expecting from the car, Mr Newey said: "If it comes out and goes three seconds quicker than everybody else, then of course it's something we're going to look at."

The Mercedes MGP W03 car will be unveiled this morning and then put through its paces over the next four days on the test track at Barcelona's Circuit de Catalunya.
