Button looking forward to 'intense fight' at Nurburgring

Jenson Button is looking forward to a "really intense fight" at the Nurburgring on Sunday, when he will try to get his winning streak back on track at the German Grand Prix.

The British driver had a dip in form at Silverstone, finishing outside the podium places for the first time this season in sixth as Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber secured a Red Bull one-two.

He insisted that his team is confident of bouncing back in Germany and revealed that engineers had been working "extremely hard" on the car.

"We're looking forward to showing what the car can do at the Nurburgring after a disappointing weekend by our standards at the British Grand Prix," he said.

Button suggested that the slow circuit with medium-speed corners and the heavy braking required at the Nurburgring would favour the Brawn car.

Team principal Ross Brawn added that new aerodynamic parts would be introduced at the weekend.

Brawn still sits at the top of the constructors' championship on 105 points, but Red Bull have closed in slightly with 74.5 points
