Secure airport parking can avoid car insurance claims
06 Oct 2008
Drivers storing their cars at airports for prolonged periods should consider the implications for their car insurance, it has been reported.
The Telegraph has highlighted motorists should make sure their vehicles are properly looked after when they go away and facilities are as secure as they claim to be.
Bruce Teolar, officer with Trading Standards, told the publication: "I would advise consumers to use either a BAA-approved car parking facility or a company that has Park Mark accreditation."
In addition, the newspaper gives ten ways to source reliable airport parking which also gives good value for money.
These include the driver checking with the parking company any damage caused to the car in their absence is covered on insurance and double-checking the mileage in the event of having to leave keys behind.
In other news, BOOKFHR.com revealed Purple Parking is to take over parking at Heathrow Airport, a firm which oversees parking at 20 transport hubs across the UK.
