Event 'to boost safety for car insurance customers who drive at work'

01 Sep 2010

A major event is aiming to improve road safety among those who drive as part of their work, which could lower car insurance premiums.

British Telecom and Tesco.com are getting behind the Driving for Better Business Wales event on September 29th, which will see 100 companies from the country taking part.

Both of these companies will give talks on how their employees keep safe while driving and reduce their exposure to risk, while additional talks will be provided by Caroline Scurr, director of the Driving for Better Business Campaign and Trevor Wedge, the chief examiner from the Driving Standards Agency.

Ms Scurr highlighted the fact that her organisation's campaign has resulted in almost 50 business champions coming forward and has led a larger number of organisations to pro-actively manage their at-work driving.

In other news, a recent study by Swinton Commercial has found that one in five van insurance customers would consider making the transition to having an electric vehicle.
